Where are you leaking?

Most houses leak energy in the form of heat. In an average UK house, typically 35% of heat loss is through the walls, 10% via the windows, 15% into the ground, 25% through the roof, and 15% in draughts.

This gives us a great starting point for analysing our own houses and working out where energy can stop being wasted in the form of heat loss.

The course will enable you to know more thoroughly where the leaks are in your own home, and guide you through the choices you can make to save money, energy and carbon that’s leaking away.

We look at all kinds of insulation materials and at case studies where different insulation projects have been completed.
We look at grants available for getting your cavity walls and roofs insulated and at more challenging projects such as external insulation in conservation areas.

It is common wisdom that a house’s heat/energy waste must be brought to a minimum before energy or heat generation projects are considered.
